Look, everyone- I made soap!!
I have been fooling with melt and pour type stuff for a while- but if you know me- I love to make things from scratch- cake, bread... soap!?
but... egads! I feared the lye!
So, in a happy chain of events, I Googled "soap making classes in MA" and
this very cool site popped up.
I spent a happy Saturday 8/22/09 in Duxbury, MA- meeting some great people and learning from a very knowledgeable teacher- it was so awesome, I am going back next month for even more soap-learnin'!!
Pictured above is raw soap that I made, all sliced up and beginning the 4 to 6 week curing process- one loaf of yummy smelling peppermint and one of lemongrass.
It's soap-a-licious!!

Wow, it has been forever since I blogged. *sigh*
What a poopy summer it has been here- rain rain rain, gray and clammy, now it is sooooo hot 'n humid (thanks, Bill!)
I had a terrible case of the blahs, NOT helped by blowing my right knee once again, lots of asthma irritation and a few migraines. sheesh!!
I have dragged myself out of the doldrums and managed to do quite a variety of things (except blog- whoops!)
Work
Yard sales and some Freecycle goodies- can't wait til this &#$* weather cooperates so I can get outside and do some re-finishing and clean-up- I got lots of wood goodies- tables and such!
... also got some glass stuff including a Fire King Jadeite bowl and an old pie dish
yes, I have done a bit o' stitching, including the fabulous July Sampler of the Month from Attic Needleworks- see it HERE
The Attic's newsletters are a source of mucho temptation and stash buying
so... be vewwy, vewwy careful, 'cause they will get ya :D
So! more later including pix- here I will leave you with some wild turkey and kitty (no, not my kitty- I firmly believe in indoors-only kitties!!) hijinks, caught in action by Jeff just yesterday in the Wild Kingdom of Delmont Avenue.
